Us

This is Us.
Hello! I'm Tory and the handsome devil in the picture with me is my darling husband Nathan.I normally call him the Mister, Hubs, Mr.Stanley the list can go on and sometimes the names aren't so sweet, however this is our life and we love spending it together.

Our Story
We met when we were 19, through a mutual friend I was going to school with at the time. I immediately knew I would marry him within the next 5 years, even though he was loud, dirty, usually had a beer in hand, and not the person I saw myself with, it didn't matter though, I was hooked.
Needless to say we met, we fell, we married end of story...NOT! We are not your typical couple who went to college, became financially stable, got married, made our footprint in the world and then decided to grow our family, okay well maybe the world doesn't work that way anymore. No, we liked to do things a bit different. After we got married at the ripe age of 21, we decided about a month later why not start a family, "sure why not?" I said, little did we know the struggle it would be to accomplish such a task.
We tried for almost 15 months to conceive our daughter, and for a couple of such a young age, in a world were couples are delaying having children we were given a lot of skeptical looks and questioned a lot about our reasons behind our struggle to have a child.
However, after many tests, over 30 negative pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, and one embarrassed husband semen donation, we finally got our first positive pregnancy test in December of 2007!

So we went from Us, to a family.

In September of 2008 we were given our daughter Cecelia which we affectionately call her C.
I got my dream of becoming a Mom.
I also get to stay at home with her and spend my days chasing her around, while going to school as well. I know my dream is to be there for them now and for always but I know one day she wont need my undivided attention and so getting my degree will give me that backup plan to do something for myself.
The second best part of becoming a Mom, was being the one to make the husband father.
Which by the way he is terrific at, he has always been an amazing husband, friend, brother and son, but the title of Dad was one that he took on with just as much ease and was the most natural thing for him. I couldn't have pictured him without this role, it completes him to the very core of his soul. He loves his daughter.

Only one problem...
We love our family and how natural it was for us to become parents, it's just that we would like the chance to to do it again, and maybe a third time. We have just hit our one year mark of trying to conceive a second child and we are back at square one more tests more blood work and of course more let down.
This time around we have our daughter who is the biggest hope and encouragement for us every month when we find out we have failed again. She is our biggest light in our lives and we are so very thankful for that. This time around, a year later, I decided it was time to write it all out, that maybe there was another couple who had unexplained infertility or that was just struggling and wanted to know someone else was too. My husband told me that putting it out there might help someone else. So here it is uncensored struggle that has almost consumed the past year of our life and the fact that we are dealing with this a second time around.
Who said expanding a family was easy...was obviously a fertile myrtle :).
Enjoy!
